You're Adopted!

6/23/2012

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.  Ephesians 1:5

Regardless of the family that you were naturally born into, you are now adopted.  Once you make Jesus the Lord of your life, you are adopted into the family of God!  Now normally the term "adopted" has a negative connotation.  It suggests that a child was unwanted by its biological parents so selected by another set of parents to be placed in a new family.  God has adopted us as Believers.  This adoption is not the result of being unwanted by biological parents though, but being hand selected by God because of His love.  As adoptees, we have a right to utilize the family name (name of Jesus) and are entitled to all the benefits and privileges of this family.  According to Romans 8:17, we are "joint-heirs with Christ" and all things belong to Him.  Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelations 19:16).  If you have not already made Jesus the Lord of your life, simply say "Jesus, I believe in you and I receive you."  Know today that you are adopted into royalty!
