You Have Not Blown It!

It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23

Have you ever messed up so bad that it feels like you cannot and will not recover from it?  The message today is simple.  God says that every day there is a fresh batch of mercies available to us.  1 John 1:9 says that if we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us of all unrighteousness.  Don’t listen to those negative thoughts or lies of the enemy saying that you will never recover from the mistake you made.  Remember the Bible is emphatic that Satan is the father of lies.  Specifically, Jesus stated that “he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it” (John 8:44).  This Scripture indicates that Satan is incapable of telling the truth so why listen to his lies that you will remain sick, stay in poverty, never get married/have children, or be successful?  When the enemy speaks, his objective is to bring death as indicated in the preceding Scripture.  He wants you to believe that you have messed up too bad so that you will give up, not fulfill God’s purpose and plan for your life, and that purpose and plan will die!  God is not surprised by our mess ups or mistakes.  He knew about them over 2000 years ago before His Son died on the cross.  The Lord already prepared a way to work those mess ups and mistakes out for our good.  Romans 8:28 promises that all things work together for good to them that love God…and are the called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).  In fact, God is not mad at you about your mess up as Satan would have you believe because once you are born again, He looks at you through the lens of His Son’s blood and not your own righteousness.  Take a deep breath and relax because you have not blown it and God still has an awesome plan and purpose for your life!
