For God so loved the world that he gave...John 3:16

Since the dawn of time and throughout the ages, man has asked the question "why am I here."  Man has also asked, "What is my purpose?"  The question of man's existence becomes even more pertinent in light of the omniscience or all knowing nature of God.  If God knows everything in advance, why did He even create us knowing that man would sin against Him in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:6)?

The answer to many of life's most pressing and probing questions can simply be found in the nature and character of God.  The Bible explains that God is love (1 John 4:8).  God does not simply have love but He is love personified, especially in the person of Jesus Christ!  The nature of love is to give as expressed in John 3:16.  Love cannot be love by definition without an object to lavish its love, affection, and goodness upon.  You were created for the purpose of being loved!  True love has to give to something or someone outside of itself.  That is the reason why the more we experience God's love, the more we too want to give unconditional love to others.

Since God IS love, He had to create someone to lavish His love upon and that is the reason He created you! Although God knew man would sin against Him in the Garden, He still chose to create him.  Love also gives choices!  True love must have an object to lavish its love upon and true love also allows choices.  Love by nature is not love if it is coercive or forceful.  God created you to lavish His love and goodness upon.  Regardless of what your circumstances may look like in the natural receive this truth on today!  The Bible states, "So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen.  For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever" (2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT).  Fix your eyes on the unseen God and His love for you because that is your purpose for being created!
