When Things Look Bad

1/20/2013

Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee.  Genesis 26:3

When God’s blessing is upon you, it does not matter where you are because you will prosper.  In today’s verse of Scripture, Isaac was in a land where there was a famine but God told him to stay in this land that seemed to lack food and He would bless him anyway.  Particularly, God said “I will be with thee, and bless thee” (Genesis 26:3).  You will prosper and come out victorious regardless of how bad things look when God’s blessing is upon you.  Psalm 3:8 states that “thy blessing is upon thy people.”  Not only was Isaac blessed because he was obedient and dwelt in a land that God told him to live in when things looked bad, but he also sowed in that land.  The Bible records that “Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the SAME YEAR an hundredfold” (Genesis 26:12).  Not only will God prosper you in a bad situation but your situation can be turned around in an instant as you submit to God’s principle of sowing and reaping (Galatians 6:7).  Don’t be moved by how bad things look but sow into God’s Kingdom and know that His blessing is on your life to turn things around for your good!
