Love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. Deuteronomy 6:5
Today do you feel like you are waiting for God to bring to pass a desire in your heart or something He has promised? Frustration may even be setting in because it feels like that desire or promise is slow in coming or delayed. First off, make sure you are delighting yourself in God because Psalm 37:4 states, “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” God wants us to be more in love with Him than our heart’s desire or even what He has promised. Sometimes when the desire or promise comes to pass immediately, people stop praying, don’t read their Bible, or may even slack up on their church attendance. In Romans 1:25 God commented that some of the people at that time “worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.” Everything we may desire or that God has promised is a “creature” or created thing in terms of a house, spouse, job, money, title, etc. God does not want the desire to manifest in our lives and then we forget about Him. At the same time, He wants to bring the desire to pass in our lives more than we do because He loves us infinitely more than we can ever love ourselves which is the reason He sent His Son Jesus to die for us. He needs to know that we won’t get our heart’s desire and leave Him. We are to worship and keep our hearts focused on the Creator rather than His creation. Keep your heart sincerely focused on God and seek His face and not His hand. When that desire comes to pass in your life whatever it may be, it will be so much sweeter if you remain with God and He is in the midst of it!
