Truth vs Feelings

1/22/2014

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  Psalm 119:105

We are to be governed by the Word of God and not by what we may feel on a given day.  Feelings are subject to change day by day and even moment by moment.  However, God's Word is always the same (Mark 13:31).  God says that you are prosperous (Psa 35:27),
healed (1 Pet 2:24), fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that you are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath (Deuteronomy 28:13).  Negative feelings are a byproduct of negative thoughts.  In order to alleviate negative feelings, we must think on the truth of God's Word.  The Bible says that we must cast down imaginations "and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God" and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (1 Cr 10:5).  Choose God's truth over feelings today!
