Times and Seasons
For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
Isaiah 43:19 (NLT)
Are you waiting for God to do something new in your life? Chances are that He has already begun. You see as Believers, we must be cognizant of the seasons. Often, we want to know exactly when something God has promised is going to happen, but we must be aware that it may already be happening. Acts 1:7 states that “the Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know (NLT).” This Scripture suggests that we do not know the exact date that the things God has promised us will come to pass in our lives. However, in his grace, God does allow us to be knowledgeable of the seasons through His Spirit. In 1 Kings 18:41-44, the prophet Elijah stated, “There is a sound of abundance of rain” and “there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand.” In essence, Elijah was saying that the rainy season was at hand. Jesus stated “Can ye not discern the signs of the times” (Matthew 16:3). If you are waiting for God to bring something to pass in your life, do not worry about exactly when it will happen but learn to discern the seasons when God is moving in your life.
