THE YEAR Of An OPEN DOOR
See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the LORD swore he would give to your fathers. Deuteronomy 1:8 (NIV)
This year, God is ready to manifest ALL He has promised to do in your life! The number 19 in the Bible represents faith and hearing or hearing God's Word and responding by faith in His ability! In today's verse of Scripture, God told the people that He had "given" them the land. Notice that He did not say "will give" but He had "given", which is past tense. From God's viewpoint, Who dwells outside time in eternity, their ownership of the land was a done deal! The only thing that limits the manifestation of what God has promised in our lives is our willingness to receive it!
Another word for "possess" as used in the Hebrew is the word "inherit." An inheritance is simply something of value that is passed down from one individual to another. God was telling the people of Israel simply to receive the good land He had promised! When the angel told Mary that she would conceive the Son of God as a virgin, she simply received the word without reservation and said "be it unto me according to thy word" (Luke 1:38).
Unlike Mary, the Children of Israel did not simply receive what God had promised! In Deuteronomy 1:28, the Children of Israel stated they could not possess the land because "the people are stronger and taller than we are; the cities are large, with walls up to the sky. We even saw the Anakites there" (NIV). When the people initially spied out the land, God was NOT telling them to take it by force but simply to receive His promise into their hearts (Numbers 13:1)! In fact, when they actually took possession of the land, they simply received it by not speaking words of doubt and shouting (Joshua 6:10, 20)!
God has set an open door before you this year to inherit all He has promised! Simply receive His Word and trust that He will bring to pass all He has promised in your life!
