The Vertical Connection

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6:33

Often people seek relationships, finances, or other things around them to feel content and complete.  The problem with that however is that the most important relationships are not the horizontal ones around us but the vertical one.  That relationship is the one with our Father God. We must be like the Psalmist who said, “thy face, LORD, will I seek” (Psalm 27:8).  When we cultivate and focus on the vertical relationship, then the horizontal relationships and things in our lives will fall into place.
