The Trap of Condemnation

8/26/2014

For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.  But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee.  Job 11:4-5

Satan is referred to as the accuser of the brethren in Revelation 12:10.  The very word devil is the Greek word “diabolos” which means accuser.  In the book of Job, Job’s friends accused the tragedy that had befallen him in Job 1 to be the result of his unrighteousness.  Whether or not they realized it, they were being used by the enemy to bring accusations of unrighteousness against Job so that he would get into condemnation and become unable to receive the restoration and blessings God desired to give him.  Remember that Ephesians 6:12 states, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”  Don’t allow people or thoughts in your head to bring condemnation!  Job maintained his integrity and position of righteousness (Job 10:15) and eventually received twice as much as before and blessings poured out in abundance (Job 42:10).  Don’t receive accusations or get into condemnation.  Know that you always retain the gift of righteousness and go forward and “reign in life” (Romans 5:17)!
