THE STRONGEST PERSON

My strength is made perfect in weakness.  2 Corinthians 12:9

You are never as strong as when you relinquish control to the Lord!  The strongest person is the person who gives God control over the circumstances and events of their life.  During times of adversity when we are weak in our own ability, we are strong in God's ability when we totally hand over the circumstances of our lives to Him!  The Bible encourages us to cast our cares on Him knowing that He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).  Giving control to God is not an indication of passivity or weakness but actually great strength!  As Jesus went to the cross, He relinquished total control to His Father God. Even though He too was God (John 10:30), He did not fight the PROCESS of going to the cross to obtain salvation on our behalf (John 3:17).  In fact, He stated in the Garden of Gethsemane, "Don't you realize that I could ask my Father for thousands of angels to protect us, and he would send them instantly?" (Matthew 26:53).  Although Jesus was God, He set aside pride, self-effort, and the insults hurled at Him (Luke 23:35) and made a decision to hang on the cross.  Jesus demonstrated great strength and restraint by remaining on the cross and relinquishing control over the situation to His Father, God.  It is actually a sign of weakness when we try to fix situations in our own strength and manipulate circumstances!  It is a sign of weakness because it indicates we don't trust God and because trying to do things in our own strength never works!  We must allow God to work!  In fact, Jesus even stated during His earthly ministry, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works (John 14:10).  Christ remained at peace because He rested and trusted His Father to handle the situation.  Consequently, "God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name" (Philippians 2:9).  Do you want to be strong on today?  Relinquish control of your situation to God and rest in Him!
