For the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day
and night. Revelation 12:10 There are things that God has promised to each of us and that we desire to receive from Him. So what is it that keeps many people from receiving from God? One of the biggest hindrances to receiving from God is receiving the enemy’s accusations into your soul. In the book of Zechariah for example, God showed the prophet a vision. Namely, he showed him “Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him” (Zechariah 3:1). Satan sought to hinder the High Priest’s fellowship with God and his ability to receive from God through accusations. We know this because the text notes that “Joshua was clothed with filthy garments” (Zechariah 3:3). These outer filthy garments are symbolic of the accusations and condemnation that Joshua received on the inside. In Zechariah 3:4, God said “take away the filthy garments from him.” God went on to state the wonders He would do among the High Priest and the people of Israel in that chapter once the filth was removed. The same is true of us. Often, we are hindered from receiving God’s blessings due to receiving the enemy’s accusations and harboring condemnation in our souls. Remember that 3 John 2 states that “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Notice that the prosperity on the outside and even in our bodies is directly correlated to the prosperity of our soul (mind, will, and emotions). Do not receive the accusations of the enemy or the accusations that he brings through other people. The word “devil” itself comes from the Greek word “diabolos” and means slanderer or accuser. Satan brings accusations about things we have done wrong and how bad we have missed it to our minds and through other people. When people accuse you and try to make you feel condemned, remember that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12). Also remember that there is no condemnation once you are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1) because you are established in righteousness (Isaiah 54:14). When Adam and Eve felt condemned, they hid from God. Condemnation prevents you from receiving from God. God knew each time that you would miss it over 2000 years ago which is the reason He sent His Son to die for your sins in your place. Don’t listen to, dwell on, or receive the enemy’s accusations! Go forward and receive all that God has for your life! Comments are closed.
