For everyone that asketh receiveth. Luke 11:10
If you are in need of wisdom concerning a situation on today, do not try to figure it out on your own or be afraid to ask God for wisdom. Notice that in the Gospels, Jesus always provided an answer to the questions His followers asked Him. In Mark 4:10 for example, His disciples asked Him the meaning of the parable of the sower and He explained it. In Matthew 17:19, after unsuccessfully attempting to cure the boy who was demon possessed the disciples came to Jesus and asked “why could not we cast him out?” Jesus went on to explain to them that they could not cast the demon out because of their unbelief (Matthew 17:20). The Scriptures are clear that “if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally” and those who seek wisdom early will find it (James 1:5 and Proverbs 8:17). Seek wisdom early at the onset of a decision that must be made rather than after you have done things your way, made a mess of things, and seek God for direction as a last resort. Ask God for wisdom and He will certainly provide it to you!
