Power Over the Enemy

1/22/2013

Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  James 4:7

If you are a Born Again Believer that has accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you carry the Spirit of God, are covered by the blood of Jesus, and have authority to utilize the word of God and your faith to change negative situations and circumstances.  Do you know what that means?  That means that Satan is terrified of you!  As you submit to God, you can resist the devil and he will flee from you.  He will not just leave you but actually flee from you.  The word “flee” in the Greek is the word “pheugo” which means “to flee away” or “seek safety by flight.”  Satan will seek safety by flight because you have the potential to destroy all his demonic works in your life.  Luke 10:19 states, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  Stop elevating Satan to some superior status that he does not hold.  He is not the opposite or a negative version of God but a fallen (created) angel.  Resist him by standing on God’s word and exercising your faith through grace, and he is sure to flee from you!
