It's All About Relationship

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day.  Genesis 3:8

In a world inundated with the internet, mobile apps, Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms, it is often challenging to spend intimate quality time with our Creator and Father.  We see that God desired spending intimate, quality time with man from the beginning of creation though.  Today’s verse indicates that everyday God met with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day.  Why is spending quality time with God so vital you might ask?  The answer is because everything flows out of relationship!  Psalms 37:4 encourages, “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”  The enemy knows the pertinence of a healthy and thriving relationship with the Lord even more than we do, which is the reason he fights against it so persistently.  He tries to keep us preoccupied with television, the internet, computers, telephones, and any other distraction.  It is imperative that we find time daily to spend with the Lord through prayer and Scripture reading even if it is only 10 minutes per day though.  Job said that “I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12).  All of your deepest desires and even needs flow out of a relationship with the Lord!
