Identity not behavior

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  Ephesians 2:6

When we fall short as Believers who have accepted Christ, always remember that identity is our problem not necessarily behavior.  A lack of understanding our true identity often contributes to sin in our lives.  God even states in Hosea 4:6, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."  Once we are knowledgeable of our identity, our behavior will adjust accordingly!

For example, a newly born again Believer who engages in promiscuous behavior may not understand their royal identity in Christ.  Consequently, the root of the problem is not necessarily the behavior but a lack of understanding their new true identity!  The Bible is emphatic that the Lord has made us "unto our God kings and priests" (Revelation 5:10).  Ephesians 2:6 records, "For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ" (NLT)!  We are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms!  To be seated implies not only a position of rest, but of royalty.  That's right, you are royalty!  There are certain actions that are beneath royalty to engage in.  Go forward understanding your true royal identity in Christ and walk victoriously all the time!
