Greater heights!

Often, when we are in the process of being elevated to a greater position in our lives, something from our past will try to revisit us.  The thing(s) from the past that will try to revisit us may be old associations that have run their course, former unproductive mindsets, past fears, or past regrets.  All of these things are designed to keep us from stepping over into the Promised Land that God has given us!  After the Children of Israel were delivered from slavery in Egypt and were on the verge of stepping into the Promised Land, their past mindset surfaced that stemmed from their former captivity.  They reasoned that they could not possess the land God had given them because they saw themselves as grasshoppers so the people currently inhabiting the Promised Land saw them as grasshoppers as well (Numbers 13:33).  The truth was that the people in the land saw the Israelites as conquerors (Joshua 2:9).  The old defeated image that the Children of Israel had of themselves surfaced as a distraction so that they would not step into all that God had promised.  Unfortunately, they did not take possession of the Promised Land (Numbers 14:28-30).  It was their choice!  What old relationships, images, or mindsets are you harboring on today as God is trying to take you into your Promised Land?  Release all these negative things from the past so that God can take you into greater heights and you can possess the land He has promised you!
