For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  Jeremiah 29:11

It does not matter what people think about us or even what we think about ourselves, God’s thoughts and plan concerning our life are what matters!  In today’s verse of Scripture, the Lord is essentially saying, “I know what my plans are for your life.”  It does not matter how bad things may look in the natural right now, God knows the good thoughts He has towards you and the expected end that those thoughts will produce.  God calls it an “expected end” because that good ending was planned and implemented before the foundation of the world!  God always declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), which is the reason that no challenge you may face catches Him by surprise.  God prepared a glorious outcome for your life in advance (Romans 9:23)!

At times, we may feel that God does not care when we are faced with trials.  God is not moved by the trials in our lives because He knows the outcome that He has prepared in advance and that it will come to pass.  One time, when a great storm arose and Jesus’s disciples were frightened but Jesus was asleep in the back of the boat they were traveling in, they awoke Him and asked, “Master, carest thou not that we perish” (Mark 4:38)?  The Lord was not moved by the storm or adversity but simply stood up “and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, peace, be still.  And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39).  God was not moved by the storm because prior to the storm even starting, He had told His disciples “let us pass over unto the other side” (Mark 4:35).  The Lord had decreed and stated what the outcome would be from the beginning!  What situation in your life looks chaotic or stormy on today, God knows His thoughts for you and has declared your victory long before you were in the present fight so rest in faith knowing that everything will turn out just fine!
