Be zealous therefore, and repent.  Revelation 3:19

For years we have heard that people need to repent of actions that are not conducive to holiness such as fornication, adultery, substance abuse, swearing, and various other “sins.”  Repent however comes from the Greek word “metanoeo” and means to think differently or reconsider.  Repentance has to do with our thinking first as opposed to actions.  Once a person thinks differently, they are able to line up their actions with the manner in which God commands Believers to live in His Word because as a man thinks in his heart, “so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).  Consequently, the correct thinking and actions will give birth to the promises of God in your life.  According to Wikipedia online, “DNA repair refers to a collection of processes by which a cell identifies and corrects damage to the DNA molecules.”  You see, DNA makes perfect replications in cells to match the DNA in the original cell that every human being starts from upon conception.  When subsequent DNA cells do not match the original DNA, DNA repair allows modifications so that it matches the original.  Similarly, repentance allows our thinking to align with the Father’s thinking so that He can bring His promises to pass in our lives.
