Defeating your giants
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying...not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6
We all have giants in our lives! Essentially, we all have situations which seem impossible to move. In those cases, we must learn to rely on the strength of the Lord! David relied on the Lord's strength when he defeated the giant Goliath. Even though David used a slingshot and a stone to ultimately kill Goliath, he told the giant, "Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts" 1 Samuel 17:45. Although David used natural weapons, his trust was ultimately in God to give him the victory! We must learn and exercise the same principle. When we have done all that we know to do in the natural to change a situation to bring about a promise of God and it still will not move, it is time for us to give the situation entirely over to God and trust in His power! God measures the oceans of the earth in the hollow of His hand (Isaiah 40:12). He is all powerful, all knowing, and can bring what He has promised to pass! While it is alright to speak the Word of God, fast, and take various steps of faith, we must ultimately place our trust in God and His ability to give us the victory. We cannot defeat the giants in our lives in our own strength, we must trust in our loving Father and the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10)!
