We don't have to worry that we have made too many mistakes or that we will miss fulfilling God's purpose or plan for our lives...
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Sometimes we “feel” like we have gotten off course in terms of our purpose or maybe even our relationship with God! When our vehicles get "off course" the GPS inside simply recalculates. Similarly, God’s purpose for our lives will ALWAYS come to pass! No bad behavior on our part or even good behavior can thwart His purpose. The Bible states that we are “predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will” (Ephesians 1:11 NKJV).
The good promises that God has spoken over our lives from the foundation of the world will come to pass because the Lord states that His Word shall not return to Him void, but it shall accomplish what He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing for which He sends it (Isaiah 55:11)!
God will get you to your final destination or the good purpose that He has for you despite any detours you may encounter along the way! The detours may be of your doing, someone else’s doing, or even the enemy’s doing. Sometimes when we are driving, we may get off course due to a detour on the road or even taking the wrong turn on our part. As previously mentioned, the GPS in our vehicles or on our smart phones simply recalculates to get us to our final destination. It has been stated that Apollo 11 made numerous small course corrections en route to the moon. Ultimately the spacecraft reached its destination just fine. Similarly, mankind got off course of God’s original design to have a man that exercised dominion over the earth and walked in perpetual fellowship with Him when Adam sinned! Ultimately, man was reconciled with God and that purpose was restored and went forth through the sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ! God’s purpose will always ultimately come to pass and we do not truly get off course in terms of our relationship with Him because we are in Him and He is always with us (Acts 17:28 and Hebrews 13:5)! Detours will not stop God’s good purpose and plan for your life!
