But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
Often we wonder why we are not getting results in our lives. Perhaps it may be a lengthy struggle with an illness, financial situation, or even relationship. Many people have prayed, doubled up on reading God's Word, and still have not seen the indifferent situation change. One answer may lie in the Scripture above Matthew 6:33 concerning God's righteousness. You see, often when we are in condemnation or beating up ourselves we do not receive from God. While we have often been taught as Believers that faith is important, righteousness is more important. Jesus walked in righteousness and was able to receive limitlessly from God! He was able to multiply bread and loaves from heaven, heal the sick, and even calm the sea! Jesus knew He was righteous and had no guilt of any kind. We too are to be clothed in righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). Righteousness almost produces a sense of entitlement, but Godly entitlement. When you walk in righteousness, you know you have a right to receive all God desires to give you. That is the reason Matthew 6:33 says to seek God's Kingdom first (which is founded on righteousness) and everything else will be given to you. We do not stand in our own righteousness but in Christ's righteousness because of His shed blood on the cross. So even when we stumble and do something wrong, we stand permanently in God's righteousness. Pray to God today to receive a revelation of the righteousness He has given you and watch positive things take place in your life!
