Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Colossians 2:7
Have you ever wondered why what God has promised you was not manifested in your life? I know I have. There could be many reasons for the delay in the manifestation of the promises of God in our lives but one of them could be that we are not rooted in Him. There is a difference between knowing God and being rooted in Him. When we are rooted in Him, no storm of life or adversity can make us fall. How do we get rooted in Him? We get rooted in Him by spending time with Him through prayer and in His Word. The Word is what will begin to take root in our hearts and consequently in our lives. The Bible calls the Word of God incorruptible seed (1 Peter 1:23). The “soil of our hearts” must be free of unforgiveness, anger, pride, self-effort, the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, the lusts of other things (Mark 4:19) and all other forms of evil in order for the seed of God’s Word to take root. Whenever you plant a good seed in good soil, roots begin to form and the deeper they go, the stronger the plant. We must ensure that we plant the incorruptible seed of God’s Word into the good soil of our hearts to see His promises come to pass. Get rooted today!
