And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able to also perform. Romans 4:21
Faith is easy! I know that is probably a startling statement to many. Many of us are familiar with the story of Abraham in the Bible. God promised Abraham a son in his old age (Genesis 15:4). Before God made the promise to Abraham in verse 4 though He said, "Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceedingly great reward" (Genesis 15:1). God knew Abraham felt anxiety about not having a son long before Abraham opened his mouth in verse 2 and uttered this concern (Genesis 15:2). God however admonished Abraham to focus on Him as his shield and exceedingly great reward! Today's verse of Scripture recounts that Abraham was fully persuaded that what GOD had promised, GOD was able also to perform (Romans 4:21). The focus what not so much on the promise but the Promiser. The focus was not so much on the promise but The One who always keeps His promises. For, "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent" (Numbers 23:19). Abraham could wait for the manifestation of God's promise in faith to give him a son because his focus was on the Promiser and not the promise. What has God promised you on today? Focus on God's love and faithfulness and faith becomes easy and effortless (2 Timothy 2:13). As you become entrenched deeper in His love and faithfulness, your focus will be on Him and soon the promise will manifest because God always keeps His promises!
