How long is it ago since this came…If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark 9:21, 23
Have you ever been afraid to start believing God again for something you once believed Him for? Or perhaps you are afraid to continue to believing God for something? Often we are afraid to believe God because what we once believed Him for did not come to pass or we have been in a bad situation so long that it seems like it will never get better. In today’s Scripture, Jesus asked a man how long his son had been demon possessed (Mark 9:21) to illustrate that God can deliver a person from an unfavorable situation regardless of how long they have been in it. The man could have also easily given up hope especially since he had believed for healing when he initially brought his son to Jesus’ disciples and they were unable to heal him (Mark 9:18). God delivered the woman with the issue of blood after twelve years of being sick (Matthew 9:20), restored sight to the man that was born blind (John 9:1), and healed the lame man by the pool of Bethesda after 38 years (John 5:5). God also delivered people that may have been afraid to believe God again for what they once believed for such as the man with the demon possessed son (Mark 9:24), Martha the sister of Lazarus (John 11:24), and even Ezekiel with the dry bones (Ezekiel 37:3). Don’t be afraid to believe God for once you once believed for regardless of how long it has taken it to come to pass.
