For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
God does not see things from a human perspective. He does not look at things the way man looks at things. What looks like a defeat to us, may actually be a set up for a great victory because God has a higher perspective and can see “the end from the beginning” (Isaiah 46:10). Jesus for example, was crucified by the Jewish leaders of His day. His seemingly tragic murder appeared to be a great defeat to His followers. Nonetheless, on the third day after being buried He rose from the dead and could boldly declared, “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). For many people, death seems to be the highest degree of finality. I believe that God was demonstrating that even death can turn into a victory. Jesus’ death on the cross was the ultimate victory that has allowed millions upon millions of Jews and Gentiles to obtain salvation and eternal life with God. I don’t know what appears to be dead or a defeat in your life on today. Perhaps your finances look dead, your marriage seems lifeless, or your prospects for the future overall look bleak. Remember, what looks like a defeat can turn into the greatest victory that you have ever experienced as you place your faith and hope in God and His Word!
